Meet my dear friend Amy, and her darling almost-2-year-old son Nicholas. Amy and I have been friends since 2010, when we were both living in Minot (ND), and after we both moved from there we have kept in touch. With her husband Eric, who is currently deployed overseas, they got PCS’d to Travis AFB and over the last couple of years, we have always said we would get together if I was ever in Northern California (or if she ever came through Colorado on her way home to North Dakota, where she is originally from). When I left Minot, she was about 7 months pregnant with Nick – I even did her maternity photos before I left (mind you, this was back in 2011 and my style/talent has changed dramatically since then, haha) – and until recently, we hadn’t seen each other.

Well! When I decided to come to California and happened to be staying near San Francisco, Amy asked me to come see her up at Travis AFB and we made a whole afternoon of it. It was so wonderful to see her again, and to meet her “bitty byte” Nick, who is just the cutest little guy ever. I loved his curly hair and dimples! I totally miss having a 2 year old in the house, I forget how fun they are and how exciting everything is to them.

We happened to find this really cool spot in Fairfield, a town just south of the base, and it was just perfect. It had this old dilapidated building, and tractors and an old truck in the back. Since Eric wasn’t able to join us for photos this time, we did a lot of Nick by himself. But! Next June We are going to do their whole family again while we are in Tennessee on our road trip, which is where Eric is originally from. You know you’re loved when friends/clients plan vacations around you! I was sad to leave Amy at the end of the day, but definitely looking forward to seeing them again next year!
