Babies, Family

BFFs + Babies

Created by Ali Coşkunfrom the Noun Project

Stephanie and I have been BFFs since we were 14 or 15 years old. We’ve gone through everything together – high school, prom, boyfriends, breakups, weddings, babies, moves – everything. Aside from Randy, she’s my “other” rock. I can call her at any time, just to cry. I can call her and ask for advice. I can call and talk about recipes – I mean seriously, we can (and do) talk about everything. It really, really stinks that she lives so far away in California, but every time we come out to visit “home” (although California really isn’t “home” to us anymore), we always make sure to hook up to spend some time together, even if it’s only for an hour or two. When Steph and Mike (her hubby – also one of our BFFs) welcomed their second baby girl, Zoey, on June 22nd … it killed me a little bit that I couldn’t be there. I am not gonna lie, I cried. It really sucks being so far away, but it really stinks when important things happen and we can’t be there. Soooo while I was out in California, I got to go and hang out with Steph and the girls.

Insert melting heart here.

Zoey is the sweetest little-wittle baby ever. I picked her up the second I could and just hugged her close – she still had just a touch of that amazing “newborn smell,” even though she was already 8 weeks old. And I got to squeeze my little niece, Zoey’s big sister Allison, who I miss like crazy. I told Steph that I wanted to take a few photos for her even though Mike had to work (boooo!) … but no worries, I’ll be doing their family photos in October when we are back in California!

Enjoy some baby love and freshness this morning!
