Did you know that the number one way to tell people about your blog is to … share it?

Yeah, that seems like a CRAZY thing to forget, but, a lot of times it just slips our minds. I’ve definitely done this more than a few times, especially when I’m batching blogs and pre-scheduling them for publication. Nobody’s perfect, right?

How can you make sure to avoid this mistake that most people make when blogging?

Here is how I make sure I share about my blogs, even when I’m writing a bunch in one day:

    • I will pre-schedule Facebook posts on my business page, with the URL link to the blog. I can tag other vendors, add location and make a CTA (call to action) for people to learn more / read more / see more on the blog. One post might be a direct link to the blog, another post might be a “hero shot” to entice people to check out more on the blog. Either way – have a CTA!
    • I will create and pre-schedule Pinterest images, typically anywhere from 4-10 of them, and have them scheduled to go out throughout the week on my applicable Pinterest board(s).
    • I will use Planoly to schedule out posts and stories on Instagram, that will go out the day my blog publishes.
    • I will use Jetpack on my WordPress blog to have new posts automatically shared onto LinkedIn, Tumblr and NextDoor (if the blog is applicable to something my neighbors might be interested in). Unfortunately, Twitter-X-Elon’s social media is no longer an option for automatic shares on Jetpack, so if you’re a Twittererererer, you’ll have to do that manually.

The key here is to plan ahead!

Blogging is the #1 way to get local traffic onto your website, but, it won’t work unless you MAKE it work. It’s not enough to simply blog and pray, you have to do whatever you can to get your words, ideas, and stories in front of readers.
