A few weeks ago, Corin sent me an email about a top secret mission to surprise her husband Drew on their first anniversary. What was the plan? To wake up, get cute, and do a couple’s session in downtown Milwaukee before heading out for a celebratory brunch. Why these special spots? Because it is where they took their wedding photos the year before! Not only that, but Corin wanted to wear their special edition, custom-made wedding shoes that she never got to wear to her wedding because they arrived too late.

Talk about an awesome way to celebrate your first wedding anniversary, right!?

So we met up at the Saint Kate Arts Hotel and headed down to the area around Filament MKE, which is where their wedding was held a year ago. There was this really cool alleyway that they had set up food trucks, and all of this really cool exposed bricks original to the buildings. Afterward, we headed down to the McKinley Marina to finish up our session on the beach. Luckily, it wasn’t terribly cold or super windy, which was lucky considering we were right on Lake Michigan.
