I’ve been such a terrible sports mom this year. In years past, I’ve been at almost every game with my “big camera” and this year I didn’t bring it until the very last game. In all honesty, it was nice to actually sit and watch every game with intention instead of being focused on getting the best shot. And actually, I only took photos the first half of this football game, because I wanted to be very present during the second half. That and it was chilly and windy. 🤣
This year was really rough for Noah in football again; it’s the second year in a row that Noah’s team didn’t win a single game. It was his 6th season of tackle football and even though they lost every game, Noah loved just about every minute of it. The craziest part is that he was the youngest player on the team, he was the only 6th grader playing on the 7th grade team because we signed up so late before season started. But even though he was a year younger than everyone else and one of the smallest players on his team, he stepped out onto that field with his head held high. He went to every practice, he was the first player to go back and encourage his teammates that were struggling during practice, he gave high fives and tough love to the newer players. He offered suggestions to the coaches and his teammates, he was willing to play any position that he was put in – even quarterback for a couple games, which is probably his least favorite to play.
I’m just so freaking proud of Noah, and his whole team, for playing their hearts out this season. And I’m already counting down until next year!
Here are a few of my favorites of Noah in action last night. 🥰
