It might be the middle of March already, but, I’m finally sitting down to write my “What I did on my Summer Vacation” blog! And, actually … in fact – this is a VLOG!
What the what!
With the last few days being absolutely INSANE here in Colorado with the Bomb Cyclone Blizzard, I finally had a chance to sit down and go through the footage and photos we took from our trip to Yellowstone National Park this last summer. We drove up with our RV and only stayed a couple of days, and I’ll tell you what – it was one of the best two days of my entire life. I could live in Yellowstone and die a happy person. I’ve never seen such incredible beauty in nature in my entire life. Two days was definitely not even close to enough time spent exploring, we barely scraped the surface of what Yellowstone has to offer! We went to
Randy bought us a GoPro and it was our first time ever using it – what a totally rad invention. Seriously incredible – lightweight, compact and the video capability was pretty impressive. We even got to take a few photos with it, like the family photo you saw at the top of this blog! We let the kids do most of the recording and camera work, they loved being wannabe YouTubers! I’m still working out the kinks of that, but, I think it turned out pretty fun.
Check it out!
My Summer Vacation to Yellowstone
Here are a few from the drive up, including driving past the gorgeous Grand Tetons.
Day 1 in Yellowstone
On the first day we hit some of the hot springs, Old Faithful and Mystic Falls.
Day 2 in Yellowstone
And on the second day, we watched sunrise in Lamar Valley and finally saw some bison (or is it buffalo?)! We also scoped out some incredible waterfalls.
Lamar Valley is the best place to see Bison!
And we even saw a fox (coyote?) right in the middle of the road!
Did you know that the Lower Falls in Yellowstone is the most photographed waterfall in the park? And no wonder, it’s absolutely incredible.
Driving back to the RV, and this was the only sign of bears we saw in the entire park. Can you spot the bear tracks?
And then we got stuck in traffic and missed the sunset, but we did get to see it above the trees.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my summer vacation to Yellowstone … I had so much fun putting this together, I don’t think this will be my last travel vlog!
