Last year for Christmas, my mom and dad got our entire family tickets up Mt. San Jacinto, taking the Palm Springs tram. We must have scheduled and re-scheduled the trip half a dozen times due to crazy schedules, sick kids, sick Ashley’s, and life getting in the way of our fun. FINALLY, just a couple weeks ago, we all finally got together to do it (on Sierra’s birthday) and we just had the greatest day up there. It started my “God I miss the mountains so much” aching I’ve been feeling lately, and for good reason – it’s just absolutely beautiful up there.
We packed a lunch and had a picnic, did some hiking and sightseeing, Randy took a nap … it was fantastic!! And, I entertained my entire family with my mini-panic attack about taking the tram both coming up AND going down (I hate when it sways going over the posts, I always think we’re going to swing and I’ll trip and fall out the window and plummet 100 feet down – irrational, sure – but hey, it could happen).
Anyway! Here are some of our family fun from our tram visit!
This is the ONE shot I took on the ride up. The rest of the time was spent with my eyes closed!
Random trivia: If you sniff a Jeffrey Pine, it smells like vanilla mixed with fresh-baked-something.
Randy’s super power is napping – anywhere, anytime. Can you spot him?
Finally got to take some photos of my 14-month old niece … I just love her to bits and pieces!
You just can’t beat this view!
I almost thought that was a zipline, and at first i was like “WOW, she’s crazy!” then i realized what it really was. HA! Gorgeous! Looks like it was a lot of fun!
