Shoot + Share Contest 2015

Created by Ali Coşkunfrom the Noun Project

This was the first year that I ever really entered any of our photos into a photography contest. It’s really daunting to put myself out there – to open myself up to judgment (literally). When my friends/mentors Amy & Jordan shared about this free “Shoot & Share” contest a few months ago, I thought to myself – well, hmm, well why not? I entered a handful of photos – not even close to the 40 allowed – because I honestly didn’t think I had a shot at actually being noticed.

Boy how wrong I was!

Just a few days ago, the official results were released for all entries … and Oh-Em-Gee guys …

While we didn’t place in the top 20, we actually made it as a FINALIST in the Top 100 for “The Wedding Couple.” Out of over 13,000 photos … we made the top 100 with this shot from Liz + Zach’s Estes Park wedding from just about a year ago. I just can’t even.

shoot and share

A few of other other entries made it to the top 10%, 20% and 30% of all entries, as well!

I could hardly even believe that our little company made it so far in this major competition with some of the most talented photographers in the country. It was a real “This is Your Life” moment for us both!

Now we’re eagerly awaiting the 2016 contest to start – and this time we’re definitely entering the maximum number of times possible!!
