I’ve been *officially* in business for nearly two years now – in fact, July 29 will be the official 2 year birthday for Ashley Durham Photography. It’s been SUCH a wild ride! I’ve done every kind of shoot imaginable – and I’ve learned and grown SO much it’s astounding.

I really wanted to give myself two years to really figure out WHAT I love about portrait photography, and to really find my niche. I didn’t want to be a jack-of-all-shoots when I first started, but I wanted to give myself time to try out a little bit of everything. I’ve enjoyed just about every shoot that I’ve done, and I’ve met some AMAZING people (people who I am now lucky enough to call friends!) and I can’t begin to tell you HOW blessed I am to have been invited into your lives.

So … with THAT being said … I am excited to be saying I will no longer be offering newborn or children photography – and will be focusing solely on weddings and engagements (and boudoir/pin-up which is my main niche, of course!). I’ll still be offering seniors, maternity and families on a limited basis, though (so no worries!). And of COURSE I will still be accepting families for homecoming shoots for Fort Carson, Peterson AFB, Schreiver AFB and the US Air Force Academy! I know this may disappoint some of my fans, but I really feel like I need to follow my heart on this one and put 110% of my heart and soul into what I truly love :: which is capturing weddings. I absolutely ADORE it and feel that my style of romantic photography is best suited for these types of events and moments.

Amy shoots Canon (we all know I’m a Nikon girl, but that’s ok – we won’t hold her Canon use against her, ha ha!).

Now, here come the best part of this announcement :: I am teaming up with the AMAZING and TALENTED Amy O’Neal, of Amy O’Neal Photography! I will be referring ALL of my newborn and children clients to her. I love this woman to pieces, she’s super sweet and incredibly skilled behind the camera. Not only that, we are teaming up to offer the brides and grooms of Colorado Springs (and surrounding areas) a double dose of awesome to capture their wedding! We will now be shooting all weddings together, and the pricing is included in your package.

Why do we make the best wedding photographer duo in the Springs? Because we both love capturing the romance and happiness between couples on their big day, and the excitement of the ceremony and seeing families uniting.

Let me tell you a little bit about Amy. She’s the mom of some of the most beautiful babies I’ve ever seen, and the wife of one of the luckiest guys I’ve ever met. Family is her number one priority, and one of the reasons I love and respect her so much.

Amy specializes in in-studio newborns and children photography, and is amazing at on-location wedding photography as well. She’s been shooting for about four years now, but just last year went live with her business and she’s been in-demand ever since (which is good, since photography has become one of her biggest passions in life!). When asked why she wants to specialize in newborn and children, she just gets the biggest smile on her face and says she loves the look of those pictures and feels she can put her best creative foot forward :: “Little kids make me happy,” she says. And it’s true, I’ve seen her in action with my own kids and she always has the biggest smile on her face during sessions!
