Surprise Proposal at the Palm Springs Tram

Just a few days ago, I got to go out to Palm Springs to photography not one but two surprise proposals at the Palm Springs Tram! Nick reached out to me about proposing to his girlfriend Jackie during their trip to Palm Springs, visiting from New York. For the last several weeks, Nick and I planned and schemed to make his proposal absolutely incredible – including hiking around to find some special spots and coming up with decoy plans to keep the proposal a complete surprise for Jackie.

When these two first arrived to the top of the tram, they hiked down to the pre-planned spot for Nick to get down on one knee. Jackie had no idea what was about to happen! I was standing there, pretending to take photos of a couple guide dogs (with permission of their handlers, of course). Jackie loves dogs as much as I do, so she got distracted with them while Nick was trying to get her to the spot. Finally, he got her over to the rocks and got down on one knee and asked Jackie to marry him. I’m pretty sure he even said please 🥰😂, which Jackie and I had a good giggle about later on. I’ve never had a bride so excited about a proposal, she kept jumping up and down and kissing Nick – it was so sweet. I love couples like that!

And, since he proposed so early into our time together, we were able to take some time doing some additional engagement photos at the tram. I think the Palm Springs Tram would make an incredible spot for a  rustic Southern California wedding, too, come to think of it, but there are other wedding venues in Southern California that would be perfect for couples who love the outdoors.
