Happy Monday, friends! I’m so excited to share all about Mattheis and Josh’s Tenney Park engagement session in Madison today! This was my first LGBTQ engagement session in Wisconsin that I can share about (the other shoots I’ve done have requested to be private), so that makes me even more excited. I had the best time with these two! Mattheis (pronounced like singer Johnny Mathis’s name) and Josh are the sweetest couple!! We even went to Olin Turville Park for some extra photos, to get some shots of the Wisconsin Capitol building in the background.

Like so many other couples, Mattheis and Josh met on a dating app. Both of them told me they knew each other was going to be very important right away; Josh said, “I never met someone who wanted to know ME and seemed interested in the things I was passionate about.” Isn’t that the dream? Just finding someone in life who just loves you for you!? We can all dream of a love like that.

When it came time to propose, they had a trip planned to Austria and Mattheis thought it would be the perfect time to pop the question on top of a mountain or somewhere really scenic and beautiful. They rode a cable car to the top of a mountain and were hiking around with 360 degree views of glaciers and the alps. He found a nice spot and told him we should set the timer on his camera and take a picture together. Right when the picture was about to be taken, he knelt down and said let’s get married! SO ROMANTIC!

These two been together just shy of for-ev-er and have been eagerly planning their 2024 wedding. It’s going to be in Burlington at Mercantile Hall, which has been on my short-list of dream Wisconsin venues ever since we moved here in 2020.
