Over the years, I have grown to love and appreciate every kind of wedding I’ve ever attended and photographed; they’re all incredible and special in their own way. However, I must admit that there might be nothing more special than a backyard wedding at a lake house! Earlier this month I flew down to Georgia to photograph Daniele and Bobby’s wedding at Daniele’s grandparents lake house on Lake Lanier. Lake Lanier is about an hour or so north of Atlanta, and it’s a gorgeous hidden gem in the heart of Georgia. It was hotter than a buttered biscuit fresh from the oven 😂 but the lake was gorgeous and made the perfect backdrop for their intimate wedding.
When the pandemic made the shit hit the fan in 2020, Daniele and Bobby decided to cancel their bigger wedding at a resort in St Simons Island. They opted to have a more intimate wedding at Daniele’s grandparents new lake house instead, and it was the best decision ever! Their wedding planners, Sarah and Paige, were incredible and made sure the day went off without a hitch; the food was absolutely incredible, too (gotta love that good ol’ southern cooking!).
Bobby and Daniele’s Story
Daniele and Bobby’s story is pretty incredible, too. They met while both in recovery from addiction, when Bobby was picking up his year chip. Daniele was new to sobriety, and as Bobby put it – didn’t like him at all. After a month or so, Bobby gave her his number and saved it in her phone as “Bobby the Love of My Life.” Unfortunately, she literally never texted him. 😂 Six months later though, Daniele wandered into the store where Bobby worked at and he finally won her over with the help of one of her friends. Bobby just knew that their lives would be so much better of they had each other in them and five years later, here they are: married and starting their happily ever after together!
