When I pulled up to the parking lot for their engagement session at Garden of the Gods, Adri jumped out of her car with the biggest smile on her face. In her hands? A freshly baked, delicious loaf of her signature dish: homemade banana-nut-chocolate-chip bread! She excitedly held it out to me and exclaimed, “welcome home!!!!!” and gave me the biggest hug.
You see, Austin + Adri’s cloudy engagement session at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs this past weekend was my very first engagement session since we officially moved back home earlier this month. I had been looking forward to finally getting to meet these two in person for so long, and meeting them was everything that I hoped it would be. Austin told me that Adri is one of the most “incredibly thoughtful” people that he’s ever met, and I definitely agree!!
We spent the afternoon hiking one of my favorite spots at Garden of the Gods, which I hadn’t been to in almost three years. It was interesting to see how it had grown and changed since the last time I photographed something there (this elopement), but also to see how much it had stayed the same. We had a beautiful view of Pike’s Peak, covered with fresh snow!! Since it was so cloudy, we didn’t get a colorful Colorado sunset but we still had the best time ever.
These two initially met online (which we love, since that’s how Randy + I met, too!), talking about music. It didn’t take long for them to meet in person, and both of them said it was pretty quick for them to realize each other was the one they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with … and now, here they are!! Planning their wedding for this upcoming June, and we couldn’t be more excited to see all of the crafty DIY stuff that Adri creates! She made the adorable signs from their engagement session, so I’m excited to see what she makes for the wedding!
