Hello and happy first wedding Wednesday of 2019!! It’s been a wild last few months with consistent shooting and being busy with life in general, so I’m really excited to kick off this year with this wedding! Every Wednesday it’s my goal to share a new wedding, at least for the first quarter of the year, catching up on fall weddings from Colorado this past wedding season. With how insanely busy we were, it’s another big reason why I’m only taking a few more bookings for 2019 weddings – we were so busy, I didn’t have time to share but a handful of exclusive peeks in my Facebook group (which, by the way, this week I’m giving away a free family session so if you haven’t join, you totally should)!
I met Steve and Amanda for the first time at their engagement session at Garden of the Gods, and right from the start I knew I loved them. We had the best time hiking around Garden of the Gods and talking and laughing and telling stories, and since then both Randy + I had looked forward to their Deer Creek Valley Ranch wedding that took place right at the tail end of summer here in Colorado. Their wedding was beautiful – bohemian and romantic, with a heavy dose of humor and just a smidgeon of (very happy) tears.
Their wedding reception had an adventure theme, complete with compasses as guest favors and a gorgeous globe by Newly Scripted that served as their guest book. There was a lot of eucalyptus and succulents, with hunts of blush throughout and the food? Guys, let me just scream it from the rooftops – Biscuits and Berries is incredible. Everything was so tasty – from the pretzel bar with the most delicious mustards, to the flatbread pizza and mac and cheese for dinner, Randy + I still talk about how delicious all of the food was (and it was such a nice change from the typical chicken and rice and veggie vendor meals!).
Randy + I had such a terrific time at Deer Creek Valley Ranch and we loved every minute together with Steve + Amanda!
So, in case you didn’t know this about me – I love being part of surprises (I don’t like being surprised, but I love surprising others), so when Amanda told me that her dad was planning to dress up in an inflatable T-Rex costume to prank Steve during their first look, I was like oh hell yeah …
Steve loves pizza, therefore pizza socks were a must.
This is more of an outtake but it’s too funny not to include, it was starting raining during pre-ceremony photos!
First kiss and a high five, haha!
Horses, right? Gotta love ’em.

I would love to give a special shout out to the amazing vendor team that helped make Steve and Amanda’s Deer Creek Valley Ranch wedding in Bailey, Colorado so phenomenal!
