Desert Ridge Estate Wedding
Ryan and Courtney are two of the most down to earth people we’ve ever met. We’d been looking forward to this wedding for a few months now, especially since their Palm Springs engagement session earlier this year, and now that it’s come to pass we’re honestly a little bummed. We knew that it was going to be fun – but we had no idea just how much fun we were in for, especially with Ryan’s family during the reception!
They got married at the beautiful Desert Ridge Estate, a sprawling beautiful property with a lake nestled in the middle of a neighborhood in Indio. We’ve been to some amazing estates here in the desert, but this one takes the proverbial cake – so beautiful!! They got married underneath a gorgeous rose and eucalyptus adorned archway from Studio Kate Floral, right by the lake at sunset. Finally, surrounded by all of their closest friends and family that all came in from their hometown of Vancouver, Canada, Ryan + Courtney exchanged traditional vows, finishing with a traditional Canadian marriage-license signing ceremony!
After their ceremony, everyone gathered under the stars and bistro lights for a dance-and-laughter filled reception. We absolutely LOVED how much fun Ryan’s sisters + aunts made their speeches; Ryan’s sisters did a rap to the beat of “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and his aunts did one to the theme song of the Beverly Hillbillies (really wish it had been recorded, it was hysterical!). Finally, once the toasts were done and dinner was served (which was delicious, BTW) … everyone hit the dance floor and rocked out to YMCA and some other great jams!
