There’s something so sweet and magical about elopements. They’re incredible to be part of, it’s literally one of the most intimate and special experiences any wedding photographer can ask for. I loved being part of Josh and Lexi’s Garden of the Gods elopement just a few days ago!! They met in high school (Josh was the ‘dreamy quarterback’ according to Lexi), but it wasn’t until after graduation that these two really got to know each other and start dating. And really, right from that moment – they both knew very early on that they were headed to marriage.

These two adventurers knew they wanted to elope from the time Josh proposed. Josh made a pretty elaborate plan to pop the question. In her own words, Lexi said, “Josh and I have a 2016 Challenger he’s obsessed with, He fed me some story of finding a part for the car he was going to look at a couple hours away, when really he was picking up my ring and asking my dad for permission! It was the day before thanksgiving and I’m a hairstylist so I was so busy I didn’t have time to think his story was wack! Later on his brother came into our apartment and hid in the bathroom to capture the moment. Josh had just hung up with me in the worst mood claiming they drove all that way for nothing, the part wasn’t going to work out. He walks in and ask me to come out to the living room and there he was with roses and down on his knee it was perfect! Total surprise!”

What made this elopement even more special, was that Josh’s younger brother Logan officiated! We were blessed with the rain parting ways for our afternoon together (it had been raining nonstop several days in a row and we had no Plan B, eek!), and everything worked out beautifully. I’m so excited to be sharing all about it today!
