Boy does it feel good to be back to blogging, this past month has just been absolutely crazy. Recovering from surgery has been no joke, and I’ve been taking as much time as I can to recoup and recover. But, by the time I met up with Sarah and her family for their Lake Geneva family photos at Linn Nature Park, I was absolutely ready to get back to work! Sarah invited me along to hang out with her whole family, including her sister’s family and their parents.
It was a super special occasion, because the patriarch’s of the family, Sam and Audrey, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary! It was even more special, because the whole family hadn’t been together for months due to the pandemic.
I met up with the whole family on what I feel like might have been the hottest day we have had in Wisconsin all year long. I typically prefer shooting sessions in the afternoon about an hour before sunset, because the light is just so much more golden. But, given the heat and humidity, we did this family session in the mid-morning to try to keep it as cool as possible.
It was incredible spending some time with everyone, running around with the three grandkids – Isabelle, Ryan and Liam – and exploring Linn Nature Center. We even went down to Linn Pier for a couple of photos, and to put our toes into Lake Geneva to cool off. Granted, little Liam ended up going ALL the way in the water at the very end – but he sure wasn’t complaining! It was too dang hot! Haha!!
