When we decided to move to Wisconsin a year ago, I had no idea if I’d ever see any of my previous clients/friends again. Especially clients I had back home in Colorado! So you can imagine how freaking excited I was when Kayla reached out to me to document her family and maternity photos!

I first met Kayla and Edwin a few years ago when they were on vacation in Colorado, celebrating their engagement. We had met up at Maroon Bells in Aspen for their engagement photos, and we’ve remained friends ever since (my favorite perk of this job!). I have loved watching Kayla and Edwin’s love story evolve over the years. They went from high school sweethearts to an engaged couple, to getting married, and now becoming parents!

After years of watching their lives from social media, I got to finally meet their year-and-a-half year old daughter Elliana. Elliana joined us for their sunflower field family session at Mac’s Market in Delavan, as well as Kayla’s third trimester baby bump! Baby boy will be making his appearance very soon, so I’m so grateful that Mac’s Market allowed us to come as soon as possible to take these photos. Emily at Mac’s Market greeted us herself, and gave us free reign of their gorgeous sunflower fields. There were tons of different types of sunflowers, and we ended up getting a gorgeous sunset that night, too. I had no idea there was such a thing as white sunflowers!
