This wedding meant so much to me, it’s going to be hard to give it justice here on my blog but I’m going to try. I’m also going to try and get through this blog without crying my eyes out, unlike how it was for me at Josh and Danielle’s Weatherford Texas wedding at Lazy S Hacienda (lol). Here we go!
Danielle and I have been friends since we were 11 or 12 years old; we grew up together in Palm Springs and survived middle and high school together, competed in water polo and swimming together and went through so much of life’s ups and downs over the last 25+ years. And even though Danielle lives in Dallas and we live in Wisconsin (and all over the world before that), thanks to MySpace and Facebook, we have been able to keep in touch and keep our friendship alive since we were kids. Maybe now you can see why I couldn’t stop crying all day long at the wedding!?
Josh & Danielle’s Story
When Danielle met Josh through Bumble, and after I found out that they were dating – it was very easy to see that Danielle was smitten as a kitten for this handsome gentleman from Texas. It did not take either one of them very long to know each other was going to be something incredibly special; Danielle even told her friends that she’d marry Josh one day after only dating for a couple of months!
In Josh’s words, here’s how the proposal went down:
“She had been asking for a ring for close to a year so I assumed the time was right. It was her birthday and I had made reservations at Perry’s in Frisco. During the meal I had booked a guy off of facebook market place to come by the house and set up a huge light up “marry me” sign in the back yard with rose petals leading up to it.
On our way home the guy was literally still parked in the driveway so she starts freaking out why someone is there. I pull around to the front to go in through the front door still with her worried about why someone is at our house. As soon as she walks through the door she sees the lights and starts sobbing. I walked her out side and got down on one knee and told her I loved her and some other things she doesn’t remember and she said yes!”
What made it even more perfect was Josh even called Larry (Danielle’s dad) a few days beforehand to get his permission. I know how much Larry must have appreciated and loved that.
Josh and Danielle’s Modern Boho Weatherford Texas Wedding at Lazy S Hacienda
I’m so grateful that Randy and I could fly down to Texas to be there for Danielle and Josh for their Weatherford Texas wedding. Not only did it mean so much to me on a deep level because of our years of friendship, but, it also revived my lost love for weddings. After the last year of time off and dealing with the fallout of the pandemic, this wedding reminded me how much I freaking love weddings and shooting them with Randy.
Spending time with Danielle, her new husband and her family reminded me of the woman I used to be and empowered me to start chasing her dreams again. And let’s be honest: every single time we are in Texas it makes me homesick for the Lone Star state. I’d be willing to bet dollars to pesos that at some point in our lives, Randy and I will end up in Texas (but no, not in the near future!).
