It was a beautiful December day for a Palm Springs wedding, just a day after a winter storm had blanketed the desert with rain and clouds. But on this day, the sun broke free and brought beautiful Southern California “winter weather” to Molly and Michael’s wedding at the Saguaro Hotel. The best word I could use to describe their special day is colorful – everything from the bride’s heels to the table decor; it was a beautiful representation of their relationship – bright and cheerful. The two of them actually met online, chatting about their favorite movies (2001: A Space Odyssey) and their shared love of film and animation. For each of them, after their first date of Cuban food and coffee, they each felt like they were long-lost best friends, knowing that it was the beginning of something wonderful.
The ceremony was short and sweet, led by their friend Christopher, and ended with a fun finale – multi-colored poms tossed at the newly minted Mr. and Mrs. as they shared their first (and second) kiss! The reception that followed was filled with lots of sweet treats (hello, candy buffet!) and a delicious southern-style lunch of fried chicken, gumbo, and the fixin’s. After a few funny, but touching, speeches from their family and friends, the rest of the afternoon was spent dancing to the sounds of DJ Ian Saunders. It was a lovely afternoon, and I’m so thrilled to be sharing it here on the blog!
