It was a perfect February afternoon for D + A’s Salton Sea backyard wedding – the sun was out, the birds were chirping, and there was nothing but laughs and happy tears for this beautiful couple. When Mrs. A contacted me a few weeks ago and asked us to come to her childhood home near the Salton Sea for her elopement on Valentine’s Day weekend, Randy and I were so into the idea of this beautifully planned afternoon. We love the big weddings we’re blessed to shoot but there’s something just so sweet, personal, simple and romantic about smaller weddings. The whole afternoon meant so much to Mr. D and + Mrs. A,
Only their closest family members were invited to witness their marriage, which was officiated by Mrs. A’s childhood minister. It was a brief ceremony, with a single reading from Corinthians that spoke of everything love is and should be. Following their ceremony, Mrs. A’s Godmother gave a touching speech that had everyone with tears in their eyes (including me!), and everyone had some cake and sparkling cider.
We can’t wait to join Mr. D + Mrs. A for their formal reception later this fall!
