Have you ever had a family session where you were just like, this is the Holy Grail of family sessions? For me, this session was TOTALLY that, even though I don’t do a whole lot of family sessions anymore. Raime had booked the session in the early spring to do this shoot last fall, and since I didn’t know if these photos were going to be used as Christmas gifts, I’ve held off blogging it until now. We did this session in the beautiful backyard of their home in Palm Springs, and each member of the family wore something related to Star Wars.

It. Was. Amazing.

Raime, Chris and their three kiddos are such a rad family; I’ve known Raime since we were barely eleven years old in sixth grade, and it has been so amazing watching her life unfold from high school through college, and now through this season of life (thank you, Facebook!). One thing I have always adored and admired about Raime is that she marches to the beat of her own drum, always quick with a joke or sarcastically hilarious retort, but always super, super kind. When she met and married Chris a few years ago, I knew he had to be something special to have won Raime over, and when we met a couple of years ago (finally!) the first time I did their family photos, I knew Chris was just as outstanding as Raime.

Then you add in their three crazy, beautiful and wonderful boys and it’s like – the raddest thing ever.  I had so much fun playing games and hanging out with Victor, Logan and Reiley in their backyard, playing Star Wars games and with their light sabers. And then they busted out their Star Wars themed tiki cups, and I seriously considered asking to join their family! Haha!
