There’s something so special about getting married in the backyard of your childhood home, and this stunning backyard wedding in Long Beach was no exception! Randy + I have been looking forward to Ryan + Emily’s wedding ever since we spent an afternoon last year with them in Idyllwild for their engagement session (followed by some delicious pizza and beer!). These two are some of the most incredible and down to earth people we have ever gotten to spend time with – from their love of adventuring to the love they have for their two puppies Raleigh and Mason (who made guest appearances at the wedding), we just adore them!
There is really no other word to use to describe their wedding better than “stunning.” Everything was so beautifully designed and put together – from the hand built arch in the backyard to the bistro lights, the Korean BBQ taco truck and bundt cakes, to the lanterns and simple but elegant green and white floral decor. Everything was just positively stunning! What made this wedding even more special was that Ryan + Emily’s dads both officiated the ceremony, sharing fun stories and making the ceremony just that much more sentimental. In the excitement of marrying their kids, they actually skipped over the personalized vows that Ryan + Emily had written for each other! So after the ceremony we snuck them off into the neighborhood in the beautiful golden California light, and had them recite their vows privately and that is pretty much my new favorite thing to do ever. It was so, so special and intimate and Randy + I are so blessed to have been able to witness it!
