Let us just start off by saying …
2016 is going to be the best year EVER! Why? Because we have so much to look forward to!!
1.) WPPI
Yep, we’re coming to WPPI in March in Las Vegas. Ashley’s been wanting to go to this major photography expo since we opened up the business in 2010 and this year we said enough waiting, let’s go!!! We can’t wait!!
2.) We get to travel
We have weddings scheduled all over Southern California (including the church where they filmed Princess Diaries 2!), as well as Northern California twice and Colorado in June! We’re hoping to make an RV trip out of the wedding to Colorado in June, crossing our fingers to visit Yellowstone National Park (hopefully before that super volcano explodes…?!?). We’re also hoping to plan a big family vacation somewhere … maybe make the drive up PCH or something. Still figuring it out, but YAY for RVing and YAY for traveling!!
3.) We will be on TV
More on that coming soon, but yes … One of our weddings last year was filmed by a production crew for a new reality/documentary TV show coming soon!!! AHH! As soon as we get the air date, we’ll let you guys know more about this rad wedding. We haven’t been able to share any photos of it, and it’s sorta been killing us because it was pretty much the coolest wedding of the year.
4.) We will finish most of the major home renovations
We’ve been working hard on the Durham House Renovation Project since we moved into this house in late 2014 … turning our 3 bedroom home into a 4 bedroom home, adding a fireplace, completely building a kitchen from the floor up, and this summer we plan to do some major landscaping in our half-acre backyard. Hello, campfires and BBQs! We’re also planning to renovate our oversized garage into a huge home gym this spring.
5.) Yep, we’re “those” New Years people.
If 2015 taught us anything, it’s that at the end of the day – it’s not about business, it’s not about the house or anything else we own … It’s about us – us as individuals, us as a couple, us as parents and us as a family. There’s really nothing else more important to us than our family, and in order to take care of what’s most important to us … we have to take care of ourselves. Since Randy left the military in 2011, and with all the crazy moves and restarting our business twice as a result … we really put ourselves on the backburner. So, we are going to looking forward to taking on a bit less work this year, and we’re going to devote more time to each other, our family and our health.
