During my time in Wisconsin, I haven’t photographed a lot of wintertime engagement sessions because it’s so dang cold outside. But, for Gil and Jessie? They actually really wanted snow for their Beloit engagement session at Big Hill Park! These two are born and bred Wisconsinites, so, the cold weather was totally fitting. We photographed this session right after a crazy ice storm rolled through Wisconsin, so the trees were beautiful and white.

Gil and Jessie met a few years ago while both working for the best gas station/convenience store/pop culture phenomenon in the midwest, Kwik Trip (IYKYK). They connected right away and both of them knew that the other was something really special. Pretty soon after they got together, they discovered they were pregnant with their first baby. During their big family gender reveal for their first daughter, Gil got down on one knee right after the smoke bomb went off. He asked Jessie to marry him in front of both of their families, which made it even that much more special. And fun fact? It was also the first time that both of their families were together all at once.

I cannot wait to fly back to Wisconsin to photograph their Christmastime wedding in Eau Claire later this year. It’s going to be so beautiful and with any luck, nice and snowy just for them!
