This summer we’ve really dedicated our time and focus on marketing on Instagram. As many businesses, entrepreneurs and creatives are aware – Instagram was bought out by Facebook a while back. At the time, that didn’t have an effect on anyone; Instagram remained beautifully unchanged and untainted by Facebook. Over the last couple of months, however, Instagram has now rolled out a few new important changes:

• Instagram is no longer chronological.
• Instagram now has a Facebook-esque algorithm that shows you what you think you want to see.
• And no, unlike Facebook – there’s no option to go back to chronological (yet, please be “YET”!) .

So what does this mean? It means you need to get users engaged with your posts, so you remain ‘relevant’ according to the new algorithm. That’s where this amazing new app becomes very handy to have!

How to Figure Out the Best Time to Post on Instagram

Prime is a FREE app that you can download on your phone, and it does a few cool things!

For one, it tells you right when you log in when the best time for you to post that particular day is:

But not only that: it will tell you AHEAD of time what the best times for you to post are every day of the week.

And – for those of you who post multiple times a day … it even tells you alternate prime times! You’ll see, according to ours – that we don’t get a whole ton of interaction overnight or super late at night on Mondays. Mostly around lunchtime and after dinner (or before bed if you’re early birds like us, haha!).

But … Why is this information so important to know?

Because, you guys! This app figures out when you will get the most interaction based on previous posts on those days … and we’ll be the first to tell you: it really does make a difference!! Posting at the “Prime Times” each day has really helped our interaction grow with comments and likes, so we’re staying relevant in our followers’ feeds!

This app is also really beneficial for those of you who are on-the-go like we are, and like to plan out some (or all) of your Instagram posts. We’ll be blogging next week all about pre-scheduling Instagram posts!
