Chicken Pox Vacation

Created by Ali Coşkunfrom the Noun Project

Good morning, friends!

This has been an interesting week for us here at the Durham Zoo, to say the least. On Monday, three of the kids started getting this rash all over them, and with Noah’s birthday being the next day (and of course, we had all sorts of plans) we thought it would be a good idea to get it checked out by the doctor. I didn’t think it was anything because there were literally NO other symptoms (no fever, no achy bodies, no headaches, no change in appetite – nada!).

Umm … diagnosis? CHICKEN POX.

Say whaaaaat??

And to add insult to injury … I have it, too!! I had it as a kid, so I didn’t think I could get it again but apparently that’s a myth because sure enough – I have it for the second time. Luckily, it’s been very mild for everyone (still no symptoms like I remember as a kid), but, we’ve been trapped at home put on a “Chicken Pox Vacation” … and I’ve been busy with my latest project.

As you can see, the blog is undergoing a little bit of a transformation. And not just the blog – I’ve been designing an entirely new WEBSITE!!

Tonic Site Shop

I know I underwent this entire brand and website overhaul last year … but it just didn’t flow well with where we are now. The old site was designed for our lives in Colorado, and it was super rustic – so while I absolutely loved it, it just didn’t mesh well with our fresh and fabulous California life now! 🙂 Plus, since we have specialized in weddings and boudoir and don’t really shoot anything else nowadays (which was our goal! YAY!) … I felt like the brand needed to update a bit and of course, the website! So I’ve taken parts of what we had before, and merged it together with something entirely fresh.

One of the things I’ve loved about being a student at the International Academy of Wedding Photographers and learning from the different teachers, is how valuable the website is … and they all raved about ShowIt sites. Now, when we did our rebrand last year I had no clue what a ShowIt site was (if I had, I totally would have done that instead of with Pro Photo Blog!). The new site is looking beautiful (as you can see from the little peek of what I’ve been doing above) and I can’t wait to share it with you …

We go live on JUNE 19th!!

Stay tuned, friends!

xoxo,

Ashley
