Del Mar Beach Elopement Wedding

Christine and Ruy met a few years ago at this little secluded Italian restaurant in San Antonio, overlooking the downtown Riverwalk. They were set up on a blind date through a mutual friend (a former co-worker of Christine and a sky-diving buddy of Ruy’s), and Christine said it was absolutely love at first sight. Seeing the two of them together last weekend, I can see that over the years their love has only grown into something beautiful and amazing. They’re just our kind of people – laid back, fun to be with and absolutely love being outside! It made perfect sense for them to get married on the beach in California (Christine is a SoCal native), and this specific beach – Seagrove Park – holds special memories for Ruy (he used to frequent this area while he was stationed in San Diego with the Navy). On top of all that awesomeness, they also love to spend time camping and RVing – in fact, they are in the midst of moving to California and living the “simple coastal life” – something I’m totally jealous of. I would LOVE to be able to move down to the beach!

Their parents and siblings made the trek out to California to witness their intimate Del Mar beach wedding ceremony, which was held at a little overlook in Seagrove Park. With the sun setting behind them, surrounded by their closest loved ones, Ruy and Christine were united in a beautiful ceremony led by Chaplain Jeff Saville – who is not only an ordained minister, but also an active duty Navy chaplain. We loved watching the two of them exchange vows and rings, and become husband and wife! After their beautiful ceremony, we did a few photos down by the water and then they joined their family for a delicious Italian dinner at a local Del Mar restaurant. Totally fitting, given that their first date was at an Italian restaurant!

My favorite part of their wedding was their OUTFITS! I loved Ruy’s laid-back beachy look, and Christine’s gorgeous pink dress made me so happy. But the crème de la crème was their super rad shoes – customized Converse All-Stars that have their wedding date on them! How awesome are they?! I think I need to get Randy a pair, since he loves to wear Chucks too!
