Ooooh you guys – if Megan + Shane’s golden desert engagement session in Joshua Tree is any inkling of how 2017 is going to shape up … this is going to be one hell of a year! This past weekend was our first engagement session of the year, and it was so much fun!!! We spent an afternoon hanging out and laughing, talking about our favorite beers and places we’ve been to … and of course, chatting about their upcoming wedding this fall near San Diego!
They met through Shane’s twin brother and Megan’s best friend (who happen to be married to each other!); Shane come up to Central California from Arizona for a birthday party and they’ve pretty much been together ever since! For both of them though, they realized each other was the one pretty fast even though they spent the first year and a half 450 miles apart. That whole time they spent getting to know each other through lots of phone calls and road trips to see each other.
Their proposal was pretty off-beat, which after hanging out them seems pretty perfect for them … Megan said, “since we had been together for over 4 years by the point of ‘official’ engagement, it was no surprise. We went and picked out a ring together while we were in San Diego one weekend. On our way out of town, we stopped by the store to pick the ring up and Shane wanted to make sure I looked at it before we left but I didn’t want to see it until there was an actual proposal so he thought it was a good idea to kneel down right there in the parking lot. He said it was actually very romantic and high class because there was a Macy’s and Applebees in the background. I begged to differ at the time but it’s pretty much hilarious now!” … and we totally agree!!!
We are super excited for all the fun we get to have with them later this year … such a fantastic couple!!! Woo hoo!!!
