Good morning, friends! Meet my new friends, Tim and Jackie. Recently I got to spend the morning with them and their adorable mini Goldendoodle Peanut for their Kenosha engagement session at Wolfenbuttel Park. It was so much fun exploring this beautiful lakeside park near Lake Michigan. I had never been there before, and I’m so thankful to Tim and Jackie for showing it to me! We spent a whole morning walking around the gardens, and toward the end dodging the rainfall that surprised us all.
Tim and Jackie met on Hinge, and it only took a couple of months for them to fall for each other. Their ideas of a fun date is a nice quiet evening in a corner booth of a low-key restaurant sipping mocktails and eating yummy seafood, especially eating at Jackie’s restaurant sushi restaurant, Ono. (On a side note: if you want a delicious meal – go to Ono in Kenosha! It’s soooo good, we took our whole family there before Christmas. It was one of the best meals we’ve had since moving to Wisconsin!).
The Proposal
When it came time to propose, Jackie told us how Tim asked and it’s so sweet:
About an hour before my restaurant was closing for the night, there was suddenly a large order that came in without any advanced notice. We were running low on some ingredients since it was the end of the night, so my brother & brother-in-law/my business partners asked if I could go grab some ingredients from one of their houses to fulfill the order. Unbeknownst to me, Tim along with my entire family as well has his were in the front of the restaurant. My sister and family had known for days and were in the front of the restaurant decorating and setting up balloons/confetti/etc. As I was on my way back, I was told that the large order pushed back their order to after we closed (which I found a bit odd, but understandable), so I just took my sweet time walking back in.
As soon as I came through the back door, I was told that the large order was changed from carry-out to dine-in and that the customer wanted to talk to me. The first thing I saw was a few of our tables put together and all decorated like it was someone’s birthday. So, I started to talk over to say “Happy Birthday” ONLY to have Tim pop out from behind the bar and get down on one knee. Mind you, I was not dressed for the occasion (as I had been cooking all night) and the first thing I said to him as he was in the middle of proposing was “I look like crap…”. He actually had to repeat himself and asked me twice! The rest of it was a blur 🙂
I’m so excited for their wedding next spring, I just know it’s going to be a beautiful day together!
