Favorite Wedding Trends: Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses

Happy Wedding Wednesday, guys!!!! Today’s blog post is all about one of our favorite wedding trends that we’ve seen over the last few months: mismatched bridesmaid dresses!

Traditionally, all bridesmaids wear the same dress cut and style, in the same exact color. We’ve seen that over and over again – in every movie, in advertisements, in bridal magazines. But over the last couple of years, this new trend of mismatched bridesmaid dresses has taken over the wedding industry – and we absolutely love it. It even really helps when you have a dress code for your wedding!

Why Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses Are Totally Rad

The dress actually can be re-worn for another occasion.

The dress is tailored to each bridesmaids personal style.

One style of dress does not fit all body types.

It adds a little extra somethin’-somethin’ to your wedding party photos.

It’s not so traditional, and gives extra texture to your details, too!

So how can you make sure your girls wear something that they not only love, but goes with the vision you have for your wedding?

Be very vocal about what you’re going for the overall look and feel of your wedding. This can mean having your girls in the same color dress but in different cuts, or giving them the freedom to pick out a dress they love in the same color family (like various shades of pinks or metallics, like Rocio + Lexie both did!).

Make a Pinterest board, full of bridesmaid dress pin-spiration. ^^ This look ^^ was our absolute favorite bridesmaid palette and style for the entire year last year, and it was all thanks to our bride, Lexie, making a detailed Pinterest board that her bridesmaids could look at and get inspired by.
