I am so excited that Tiffany and Chelsea’s wedding at Rockin’ B Ranch in Pipe Creek, Texas is on the blog today! It was my last Texas wedding that was booked when we thought we were moving to New Braunfels last year, and while I’m so happy we moved to Georgia – I’m super grateful to have had the opportunity to hang out in the gorgeous heart of Texas for a couple weddings this year!
Tiffany and Chelsea have been together for six years, having met through some mutual friends. For both of them, it was super fast falling love; Chelsea told me that one day, they were sitting in the car just chatting about life and it hit her – Tiffany was the One. They even both talked about it during their vows, knowing they would be married one day.
Even though in the early days of their relationship LGBTQ marriage was not yet legalized, in 2014 Chelsea gave Tiffany a promise ring. It was a promise for forever, of loyalty and commitment. Tiffany told me all about the proposal, and it was so special I wanted to share it with you!
Tiffany said, “She took me to our favorite park we discovered together, where we started running and bringing our new puppy to, and carved our names in a heart on a tree and gave me the ring. When it was legalized, she proposed on our favorite private fishing pier near Galveston. Not many people has access to it, and we would spend hours fishing just the two of us. One day, not any special day, she set her camera up without me seeing and asked me to be her wife. I will say I gave her a hard time because I told her I wanted to be dressed up and feeling pretty, and we had been sweating and slimey from fishing all morning.. and she had a few Coors Light to ease her anxiety, but she captured us in the raw.”
And it was that special intimacy that I loved so much about their wedding. Their Rockin’ B Ranch wedding ceremony was actually just the two of them with the officiant (as well as me and Tayler, their videographer); their parents walked them down the aisle but did not stay for the ceremony. Tiffany and Chelsea exchanged vows and shed some tears and kisses throughout the ceremony, and when finally pronounced legally married, it was just the most incredible moment to witness.
Following their ceremony, their closest friends and family joined us to usher them into the reception area with a beautiful sparkler entrance (just another way their wedding day was super untraditional!). We enjoyed some amazing dinner (queso and chips instead of salads? Yes, please!), tacos, dancing and some super tasty homemade pies and cakes.
Tiffany and Chelsea, thank you so much for asking me to be part of something so special for the two of you; it was an honor to have been there! I loved every moment of your Rockin’ B Ranch wedding in Pipe Creek – and I wish you both all the absolute best!
