Romantic Industrial Wedding at the Ivy House

Created by Ali Coşkunfrom the Noun Project

I have looked forward to Molly and Joey’s romantic industrial wedding at the Ivy House in Milwaukee, ever since we hung out for their engagement session at Villa Terrace. I knew that their wedding was going to be absolutely epic – emotional, beautifully designed and my favorite part? Absolutely all about their love story.

There were a few incredible details about this wedding that I want to highlight, aside from all the pretty photos. There were just some special details and moments that really touched my heart.

Special Touches to This Wedding

First and foremost, Molly was adopted as a young child by her wonderful, beautiful single mom. Unfortunately, Molly’s mom passed away a few years ago and I knew how heavily that weighed in, as Molly planned her dream wedding with Joey. However, Molly’s mom was there in spirit, and was present in so many ways. I had talked to Molly about some ideas I had seen at other weddings, and I was honored to see some of my suggestions were taken to heart.

I won’t lie – I absolutely was choked up seeing the specially reserved seat both at the ceremony and the reception, saved for Molly’s mom. Molly also incorporated some special tokens on her bouquet, to carry her mom with her. And finally, Molly’s aunts stepped in, and took turns walking her down the aisle to ‘give her away,’ and there wasn’t a dry eye in any of the ceremony rows. There was also a memorial table set up at the reception, with a burning candle.

Second, I loved that Joey’s son, Noel, was so involved in all of the special moments. He was with his dad getting ready, and Noel had a special part of the ceremony, holding a sign that said, “here comes our Molly.” As a step-child, it was really emotional to see Noel as such an important part of the day, to really unify the three of them as a family.

And finally, can we all just appreciate the awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping aesthetic that the Ivy House has? If you’re looking for a beautiful industrial space for a wedding in Wisconsin, the Ivy House is it. It easily is one of my most favorite wedding venues in Wisconsin, and one of the few places I would fly back from Arizona to photograph a wedding.

With that, enjoy just a few of my favorite photos from this romantic industrial wedding!
