Tim stood in the shade of the tree, hiding from the heat of the summer sun. Vanessa stood just a little off in the distance, eagerly awaiting our signal to walk toward her husband-to-be, to show him her beautiful tea-length bridal gown (which was made complete with that gorgeous birdcage veil). Finally, we waved her forward and she darn near ran to him. She finally tapped him on the shoulder, he turned around and broke into the biggest grin we’d ever seen him have and it was in that moment that we could see just how excited they were for this day they’d been waiting for, for so long.

We’ve been excited for this day too, since we met over coffee at Starbucks a few months ago. We instantly just fell in love with these two – so sweet together, and with so many exciting ideas for their wedding. When Ash did their engagement session in the Movie Colony area of Palm Springs earlier this year, we got even MORE excited about their wedding because their style is just so amazing (love a man who can rock a bow tie!!).

Tim + Vanessa’s rustic Southern California DIY wedding started on a Friday at the Historic Riverside Courthouse with a small ceremony, followed the next day by a fun reception at the Tack Room Tavern at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio. Their family and friends gathered for a night of delicious tacos and popcorn, cake and dancing under the bistro lights on the patio!
