I remember the first time Randy + I met Haig and Tenny. It was a chilly December day for an engagement session in Joshua Tree and we had an incredible time with them despite the cold – getting to know them, hanging out, hearing their story. And then after we got done, Haig brought out a bottle of tasty whiskey and said, let’s take a shot!
Ever since then, we knew that their Indian Wells wedding was going to be absolutely incredible. They got married in Indian Wells, California, in this beautiful little Armenian church. I had grown up driving past the church for as long as I could remember, and always thought it was one of the prettiest buildings in the desert. Inside of it was even more beautiful than the outside, with large paintings and ornate decor. Their ceremony was heartfelt and full of culture, since it was in Armenian we had no idea what they said – but just seeing the reactions from the crowd, it was easy to tell that the sermon was purposeful and special. Following their ceremony, we headed over to Indian Wells Golf Resort for a reception in the Pavilion, full of music and dancing and some of the most beautiful and best tasting desserts we have ever had at a wedding!
Haig and Tenny put a lot of very special touches to their wedding. Tenny wore the same necklace that both her mother and sister wore at their wedding, which I just love – little traditions like that bring me so much joy! Tenny’s 97-year-old grandfather hand built the Card Cottage as a gift for them, and the place cards were a DIY project that Tenny and Haig put together using succulents and clay pots.
We are so happy for our friends, their Indian Wells wedding was absolutely perfect!!
