Why Hire a Wedding Planner

Good morning, friends!!

This morning I want to talk about your wedding day, especially you destination brides and grooms! Planning a wedding is stressful – there are so many details, and it can be very overwhelming. I remember when Randy + I were planning our vow renewal back in 2013, and it was just – so much. I thought, with me being a wedding photographer that it would be pretty simple to do … I was so wrong! In Colorado, wedding planners weren’t really popular. Not sure why – but it seemed like every wedding was 100% DIY, and sometimes they’d have a site coordinator the day-of but it was nothing like the client service I’ve seen since moving to California last year.

And now I look back, and wish more than anything I’d had a wedding planner to help me along the way.

Wedding planners provide an invaluable service. From vendor recommendations, to helping you build your timeline – they are there to help you plan your wedding and take some of that stress off of your shoulders. Not to mention what a lifesaver they are the day of your event (because there is bound to be some sort of crisis, big or small, on the big day)! They are there to act as your “go to” person so you’re not bothered with questions on your wedding day, and ensure the timeline stays on track. They’re even there to help you keep your wedding to a budget (and can sometimes even help you save money)! Wedding planners make it their job to ensure you’ve got minimal stress and maximum fun on your wedding day.

For destination brides and grooms – it’s even more beneficial to hire a wedding planner. Why? Because they will know the best of the best local vendors, they’ll know the local laws for events (including permits and noise ordinances) and they will be able to make your day go as smoothly as possible. We once had a wedding for a destination couple and they had all their wedding goodies shipped directly to the planner so that they didn’t have to cart everything around all over the country with their travels – they were able to show up and know their entire party would go off without a hitch.
