Ashley and I met up with Elizabeth, Michael and their three boys for their wintery family photos at White River County Park in Lake Geneva. Showing up to the location after getting 8 inches of fresh snow made me concern due to the frigid temperatures; but, nothing could stop the Grace Family! Micheal, Jack and Jameson played like it was just another day in the park. The cold temperatures and snow on the ground just made the kids smile and want to enjoy the outdoors. Bundled up in thier Carhartt jackets and beanies they were ready to have fun!
For me this was something that I was really excited but also nervous about since it was my first ever solo family session that I was shooting. Of course I have been with Ashley during hundreds of family sessions, but when it is you that gets to make the magic, it is a different feeling. It is a feeling that only makes ones heart happy and craving more.
The amount of fun we had during the session was something I have never truly felt before. The smiles that came across each of their faces as we talked and laughed while playing in the snow was unreal. Micheal Jr, Jack, and Jameson were just so joyful and polite, as their smiles radiated from their faces. I could see how proud Elizabeth and Michael were while they cherished the moments of love while watching them play. Everyone hugged, smiled, laughed and giggled as we created a family train, kisses for mom, squeezes for dad and even created some magic with the snow.
