There are so many things we absolutely love about S+P’s La Chureya Estate wedding in Palm Springs – the bright colors, the delicious cuisine, the gorgeous dessert bar, the intricate details only befitting an Indian wedding … But what we loved most about this wedding were the grooms!!
We booked with them before we even met, and when we finally did meet in person a few months ago over pancakes and coffee at our favorite breakfast place in Palm Springs (Elmer’s, guys – go try to the German pancakes there with the triple northwest berries – SO GOOD) … it was an immediate connection. These two have such a great relationship!! Like us, they met online (although they met with the much more contemporary OkCupid rather than the ancient AOL-IM like us!) and also like us – it was love at first sight for the both of them. In fact – their first date was perfect and lasted more than 24 hours … and guess what? They haven’t spent a night apart since then, except for S’s work travels.
When they got engaged, it was on P’s birthday during a trip to Kauai. Funnily enough – they had both made intricate plans to propose to each other on the same trip!! S had planned to propose to P on the beach, spelling out “Marry Me” with flowers and corals … and P had planned to do the exact same thing that evening!
Their wedding at the La Chureya Estate in Palm Springs was one of the raddest weddings we’ve ever witnessed – so much color, and fun! Since P is from India, many of the Indian wedding traditions were incorporated into their big day. When we arrived at the ceremony, one of P’s childhood friends adorned our heads with wax and rice – to symbolize being welcomed and taken care of by the couple. There were all sorts of vibrant colors used throughout the wedding, and can we talk about those GORGEOUS wedding invitations?? Absolutely beautiful!
Following their beautiful and intimate ceremony, guests were invited poolside for the reception. Mary Cass, as always, did an amazing job with all of the floral decor and Cathy O’Connell with COJ Events did such a fabulous job of incorporating all of the Indian details, including elephant place card holders and the jewel-toned decor. Over the Rainbow bakery provided an entire table of delectable dessert treats – including Randy’s new favorit: the salted caramel peanut cupcake!!
We’d love to thank Scott + Parth’s RAD creative team for coming together to make this wedding AMAZING!
